It was busy work, getting all of his things arranged and set up in the Defense against the Dark Arts classroom, stripped bare from the last professor so that Silas could add his own unique touch. He hoped it at least sort of lived up to the expectation of what a DADA classroom should look like, but who could say really, as strange a class as it was.
And thankfully, his first classes had gone off...Well...Mostly successfully. Of course, he couldn't guarantee nothing would ever happen, it was a dangerous subject for a reason, but no one had been sent to the hospital wing yet, which was a fair sight better than his own stint at Hogwarts.
He was quite glad when the chance to stretch his legs on the school grounds finally presented itself, and to visit an old friend of his from his own school age.
He set up an easy pace as he approached the Whomping Willow, only to stop and watch the game that seemed to be afoot between the first year and the giant of a tree.
"You know, what I was in my...Mm...Second year, I tried to climb it," he began, coming to settle down close, but not enough to earn the tree's attention.
"It went about as well as you could expect, I spent a while in the hospital wing," he finished with a chuckle, "it's sentient, I always wondered if you could make friends with it if you talked to it enough."
